"In Tandem: the Life and Work of Jerry and Evelyn Ackerman," is part of a larger Ackerman event to be held in Palm Springs during Modernism Week at the Eisenhower Health Center on February 14th, from 3:00-5:00pm. The event will also include a moderated panel of design experts on the influence of the Ackermans including David Keeps (LA Times), Gerard O’Brien (Reform Gallery), Jo Lauria (Co-Curator, Ackerman retrospective), Dale Gluckman (Co-Curator, Ackerman Retrospective), Jeffrey Head (Independent Design Writer and Curator), and Katie Nartonis will moderate (Specialist, 20th C. Design). There will be also be a book signing for the recently published tome “Hand-in-Hand: Ceramics, Mosaics, Tapestries, and Wood Carvings by Mid-Century Designers Evelyn and Jerome Ackerman” with a presentation by authors Dan Chavkin and Lisa Thackaberry. Jerry Ackerman a living National Design Treasure to attend.
